Frequently Asked Questions

Please reach us at info@octagonnursery.co.uk if you cannot find an answer to your question.

We accept children aged 2 to 5 years old.


We are open Monday through Friday from 08:45  to 15:00.


We offer a play-based curriculum that is designed to foster a love of learning in young children.


We understand that on occasion early collections may be required due to special circumstances, however full session fees will be taken for the allocated session. 


We also understand that late collections can happen due to unforeseen circumstances, and we have a process in place to deal with this, both from a child welfare perspective and also ensuring that we remain within the right staff to child ratio. 


If you are going to be late:

  • Please call the nursery as soon as you are aware that you are going to be late to advise the nursery of your expected time for arrival.


If you are unable to collect your child yourself for any reason: 

  • Please inform us if a designated person will be collecting instead of yourself – these are persons who you have given the identity of to us on file and they are in possession of the security password.


If you or a designated person are not available and an emergency person who is not known to us is collecting the following must happen:


  • You must inform us immediately.
  • Provide them with the safety password,
  • Provide us with a detailed physical description, and their DOB if possible.


We are unable to release a child into their care if the above conditions are not met. 


If you are more than twenty minutes late with no communication as to the reason, we have a full process and policy for this and subject to staff to child ratios and if the time is after 15:20, we have a £5 per minute late fee which is in place to provide cover the additional operational costs of caring for a child outside of their normal nursery hours.
